Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Land Development to join our dynamic engineering team. This pivotal role involves leading complex land development projects from conception through construction, ensuring compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and client specifications. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, and utility systems.
- Coordinate project schedules using advanced project management tools to ensure timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and schematics utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and other CAD software.
- Conduct geotechnical assessments and hydraulics analyses employing tools such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, and ArcGIS to inform system design.
- Oversee construction management activities including site inspections, quality assurance, safety compliance, and progress reporting.
- Develop accurate construction estimates by utilizing construction estimating techniques and collaborating with vendors and contractors.
- Manage project documentation through technical writing, system design reports, schematics, and comprehensive project records.
- Utilize GIS platforms for spatial analysis and land surveying data integration to optimize project planning.
- Ensure designs adhere to local codes, environmental regulations, and best practices in water treatment, wastewater management, and system hydraulics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical engineers, geotechnical specialists, and surveyors to deliver integrated solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in land development projects with demonstrated project engineering leadership.
- Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Extensive experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, ArcGIS GIS software; familiarity with Bluebeam for document review is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction management practices including inspection protocols and safety standards.
- Skilled in hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS or SWMM; experience with water treatment and wastewater systems is advantageous.
- Competence in geotechnical engineering principles related to soil analysis and foundation design.
- Familiarity with system design for pipelines and water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports, specifications, and project documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
