Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional development in toddlers.
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.
- Manage daily classroom routines including diapering, feeding, nap times, and play activities with patience and enthusiasm.
- Use effective behavior management strategies to guide positive interactions and address challenges constructively.
- Collaborate with families to share progress updates, discuss developmental milestones, and support at-home learning initiatives.
- Incorporate principles of Montessori and other early childhood education philosophies to enhance learning experiences.
- Maintain detailed documentation of each child's development and participate in ongoing assessments aligned with standardized testing requirements.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting, especially with toddlers.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and best practices in early intervention and special education.
- Skilled in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods, literacy education strategies, and teaching physical education activities for young children.
- Ability to adapt lessons for children with diverse needs including those requiring special education support.
- Experience with childcare regulations, child welfare standards, and maintaining a safe classroom environment.
