Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Barback to support the bartending team in our fine dining restaurant. As a Barback, your role will be vital in ensuring the bar operates efficiently and seamlessly. You will be responsible for assisting bartenders with the preparation of beverages, keeping the bar area stocked and clean, and helping create a smooth, enjoyable experience for our guests. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has an interest in pursuing a career in bartending or hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stocking & Restocking: Ensure the bar is stocked with all necessary supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, glassware, napkins, and straws. Refill bottles, change kegs, and replenish ice to ensure bartenders have everything they need.
- Cleaning & Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bar and storage area. Regularly clean bar tools, glassware, countertops, and the floor. Take out trash and keep the bar area free of clutter.
- Support Bartenders: Assist bartenders in preparing garnishes, clarified cocktails, mixers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Help with the setup of the bar for shifts and assist in breaking down and cleaning the bar area at the end of the night as needed.
- Guest Service Assistance: Assist in delivering drinks to guests, especially during busy periods, ensuring that guests are promptly served. Occasionally assist guests at the bar with simple requests (e.g., refilling water, providing menus).
- Inventory Management: Help monitor inventory levels and assist in the delivery and storage of liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies. Communicate low stock to the bartender or bar manager.
- Organizing Glassware & Tools: Ensure that glassware is clean, polished, and readily available for use. Ensure that bar tools, utensils, and utensils are maintained and ready for use at all times.
- Ice Management: Keep ice bins full and ensure that ice is clean and ready for service. Transport ice as needed to and from storage areas.
- Assisting with Setup & Breakdown: Help prepare the bar area for service by setting up drink stations, preparing garnishes, and arranging glassware. Assist with closing duties, including cleaning the bar area and ensuring all supplies are stored properly.
- Adhering to Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards. Report any accidents, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting is preferred but not required. A willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lifting heavy kegs, boxes of supplies, and ice. Must be able to stand for long periods and move swiftly.
- Team Player: Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to support the bartending team and other restaurant staff. A cooperative and positive attitude is crucial.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure the bar area remains clean and stocked throughout service.
- Customer Service: Friendly and approachable demeanor, with a commitment to helping create a positive experience for guests.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize duties to ensure smooth bar operations.
- Knowledge of Alcohol and Beverages: Basic knowledge of alcohol, drink preparation, and bar equipment is helpful but not required.
- Ability to Multitask: Must be able to juggle various tasks quickly while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
- Flexible Availability: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, in line with the restaurant’s operating hours.

Pay: $20.37 - $24.54 per hour
