Full Time Assistant Softball Coach
JOB DESCRIPTION
REPORTS TO:
SUMMARY:
-
Responsible for assisting in the management and administration of all phases of a successful Softball program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Responsible for assisting in the athletic education/instruction, development/training and evaluation of student-athletes.
-
Directs and manages student manager including the delegation and prioritization of administrative responsibilities.
-
Responsible for the search/recruitment of quality prospective student-athletes.
-
Works closely with Sports Medicine staff and team physicians to ensure the safety, health and well-being of the student-athletes.

Develops a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport and actively seeks to develop new performance methods and strategies.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of and adheres to all applicable LSUA, Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) rules and regulations.

Works with the Head Softball coach and University Facilities to keep the maintenance of the field.

Assists the Head Softball Coach with travel, booking hotels, securing charter buses and reconciliation of all receipts in workday.

Assists with other duties/projects as assigned/directed.
POSITIONS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED:
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid driver license

A background check will be required of the successful applicant

1-2 Years’ softball coaching experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor’s degree
-
3-4 years’ softball coaching experience
OTHER:
-
Strong organizational and communication skills; and high ethical standards.

Comprehensive computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to operate within and enhance a team environment.

Ability to self-start, be creative, show initiate, and meet established goals and deadlines
Further consideration will be given to those applicants who possess:

A working knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations;

Coaching experience at the NAIA level;

Collegiate and/or professional level playing experience
