Nursing Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistants to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will support medical teams in delivering essential services, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and well-being. Experience with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with disabilities, is highly valued. This role offers an opportunity to work in dynamic environments such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and outpatient clinics.
Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems
- Support patient mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and transfer devices
- Administer medications and treatments following established protocols and HIPAA regulations
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care and wound management
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, or behavioral health requirements
- Assist with medical documentation ensuring accuracy and completeness of medical records
- Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients of all ages including children and seniors
- Follow infection control protocols for infectious disease care and hospital-acquired infection prevention
Experience
Candidates should possess relevant experience or familiarity with a variety of healthcare environments including:
- Hospital experience (ICU, Emergency Medicine, Level I & II Trauma Centers)
- Long-term care or skilled nursing facilities (Geriatrics, Assisted Living, Nursing Homes)
- Pediatric settings (PICU, Pediatrics)
- Post-acute or home & community care settings
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus
Additional skills that enhance candidacy include proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks, familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy/physiology knowledge, basic life support certification, and experience in specialized areas such as hospice or acute care. Candidates with experience in medication administration, catheter care, DME management, or working within teaching hospitals are encouraged to apply.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
