Position Overview
Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center is seeking four Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiology Physicians to provide comprehensive anesthesia services in a dynamic healthcare environment. The selected candidates will deliver high-quality patient care across a wide range of surgical and procedural settings.
Key ResponsibilitiesDirect Patient Care
- Provide direct patient care for approximately 95% of scheduled time.
- Perform anesthesia cases independently and supervise or direct CRNAs as required.
- Provide regional blocks and other duties assigned by the anesthesia team.
- Participate in on-call coverage.
Clinical Services
- Provide general anesthesia care, including preoperative and postoperative management.
- Deliver acute pain management services.
- Provide airway assistance, CPR, and sedation and anesthesia services outside of the operating room as needed.
- Attend preoperative meetings and daily anesthesia meetings.
- Arrive on time for all scheduled surgeries and clinical assignments.
Operative Services
Provide anesthesia services for patients undergoing:
- Cardiac surgery
- Orthopedic joint replacement procedures
- Major vascular surgery
- Thoracic surgery
- Neurosurgical procedures
- Plastic surgery
- ENT procedures
- Urologic surgery
- Ophthalmologic surgery
Additional Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy.
- Support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in:
- Cardiac catheterization laboratory
- Electrophysiology suites
- Gastrointestinal suites
- Radiology suites
- Provide primary coverage for patients in the short stay unit.
- Perform diagnostic transesophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients.
- Provide emergency airway management.
- Deliver bedside consultations and outpatient clinic consultations as needed.
Patient Care and Documentation
- Follow all established medication policies and procedures.
- Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions.
- Ensure timely communication of test results in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Active Anesthesiologist License
- Active BLS Certification
- Active ACLS Certification
- DEA Registration
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
