The Retreat at Creekside is seeking a dependable, motivated, and compassionate Full Time Kennel Care Associate to join our team.
The Kennel Care Associate is the heart of the guest experience at The Retreat at Creekside. This role provides companionship, comfort, and attentive care to our boarding guests, helping them feel safe, comfortable, and welcomed throughout their stay.
What You'll Do
- Provide daily care for boarding dogs and cats
- Feed, water, and monitor guests throughout their stay
- Monitor appetite, eliminations, comfort, and behavior
- Administer medications as directed
- Assist with guest admissions and releases
- Follow owner instructions and boarding protocols
- Maintain accurate boarding records and documentation
- Ensure guest belongings, food, and medications are properly handled
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility
- Clean kennels, suites, cat condos, and common areas
- Assist with laundry, dishwashing, and general housekeeping duties
- Work closely with fellow team members to provide exceptional guest care
Qualifications
- Kennel, boarding, veterinary, or animal care experience preferred
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Reliable transportation
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
Schedule
- Full Time
- Weekday morning shifts with a start time of 6:30 AM
- Weekend coverage required
- Holiday availability required on a rotating basis

Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and supervision for dogs and cats staying in the kennel, ensuring their safety, cleanliness, and comfort
- Handle animals gently and confidently, utilizing proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff
- Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and basic trimming to maintain hygiene standards
- Maintain detailed records of each pet’s health status, behavior, feeding schedules, and special needs
- Engage pets with enrichment activities to promote mental stimulation and reduce stress during their stay
Requirements
- Prior experience with animal handling or veterinary technician experience preferred
- Strong understanding of animal care best practices, including restraint and safety procedures
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with large animals
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Passion for animals with a caring attitude and a proactive approach to pet welfare
