SUMMARY
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides direct patient care working under the supervision of and following a plan of care established by a Physical Therapist. This process focuses on meeting patient/family needs and goals and documenting the patient’s subjective and objective response to care and progress towards outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
- Performs and documents physical therapy treatments as delegated per practice act in coordination with the supervising Physical Therapist; communicates regularly with the Physical Therapist regarding patient problems or progress.
- Follows the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist, working towards functional goals based on identified patient needs.
- Provides and documents patient/family instructions regarding the use of assistive devices (walkers, crutches, canes, orthotics, prosthetics, etc).
- Communicates only subjective and objective patient care information with other health care professionals, referring assessment and discharge plan information to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Maintains clinical competencies per department guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a Commisssion on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) and Council for Higher Education Accrediatation (CHEA) school of Physical Therapist Assistant with a diploma or degree. Current licensure in the State of Nebraska required. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

Schedule: PRN (hours as needed), Day shift, 8am-4:30pm
