Job Overview
The Community Outreach & Education Coordinator serves as a key community-facing representative of El Centro, building and maintaining relationships with community members, Promotoras de Salud, partner organizations, and stakeholders throughout the service area. The Coordinator works collaboratively across all El Centro departments to increase awareness of services, identify community needs, support educational initiatives, and connect individuals and families to programs and resources.
This position helps ensure that El Centro's outreach and education efforts are coordinated, culturally responsive, and aligned with organizational priorities. The Coordinator plays a critical role in strengthening community trust, supporting community leadership development, and elevating community voices to inform program planning and advocacy efforts.

Responsibilities
Coordinate and implement community outreach activities that increase awareness of El Centro programs, services, events, and advocacy initiatives.
Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with community members, neighborhood groups, schools, faith-based organizations, healthcare providers, and other community partners.
Represent El Centro at community events, resource fairs, coalition meetings, and public forums.
Gather community feedback and identify emerging needs, barriers, and opportunities to help inform organizational planning and service delivery.
Assist with recruitment, engagement, and retention of community volunteers, and Promotoras.
Coordinate educational workshops, presentations, and community learning opportunities related to health, education, financial empowerment, civic engagement, and other priority topics.
Collaborate with program staff to ensure educational content reflects current community needs and organizational priorities.
Support the development and distribution of culturally and linguistically appropriate educational materials and resources.
Work closely with Program Director, Coordinators, Navigators, Access Specialists, and other staff to promote integrated service delivery and cross-program referrals.
Assist departments in identifying outreach opportunities and strategies to increase community participation in programs and services.
Support agency-wide initiatives, special events, campaigns, and community engagement efforts.
Assist with the recruitment, orientation, engagement, and ongoing support of Promotoras and community volunteers.
Coordinate communication, meeting logistics, and educational opportunities for Promotoras and community leaders.
Support leadership development opportunities that empower community members to become Promotoras, advocates and ambassadors for their communities.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations and service providers that enhance educational and outreach efforts.
Participate in coalitions, task forces, and community collaborations that advance El Centro's mission and strategic priorities.
Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, community contacts, educational sessions, referrals, and participant engagement.
Enter and track required data in agency databases and reporting systems.
Assist with collection of success stories, participant feedback, and outcome data.
Support preparation of internal reports, grant reports, and other documentation as requested.
Work collaboratively and respectfully with staff across all departments.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and organizational events.
Carry out the mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of El Centro.
Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Public Health, Social Work, Education, Human Services, Communications, or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 2-3 years of community outreach, education, community organizing, nonprofit, or related experience.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish)
· Experience working with Latino communities strongly preferred.
· Experience coordinating volunteers, community leaders, or Promotoras is preferred.
· Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the service area.
· Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for community events and outreach activities.

Pay: $19.40 - $21.00 per hour
