Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Spring/Woodlands area. This vital role involves delivering comprehensive occupational therapy services . in the pediatric setting.The ideal candidate will be passionate about enhancing patient independence, developing personalized treatment plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal recovery and functional outcomes. Duties
- Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients’ functional abilities and needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on improving daily living activities (ADLs), motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive functions
- Assist patients with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to foster independence
- Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and case managers to coordinate care strategies
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition back into home or community settings
- Document patient progress accurately using electronic health records (EHR) management systems and maintain detailed clinical documentation
- Provide education and training to patients and families on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment use, and strategies for ongoing support
- Support clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders by implementing evidence-based occupational therapy programs tailored to their unique needs
- Participate in clinical interprofessional collaboration to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Hands-on experience in pediatric occupational therapy including early intervention and school-based programs
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and post-acute care practices essential for accurate assessment and treatment planning
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective care plans that incorporate evidence-based practices for clients with neurodevelopmental disorders or physical rehabilitation needs
- Experience working with clients requiring assistance with ADLs and discharge planning processes
- Skilled in medical documentation standards and electronic health records (EHR) management systems to ensure compliance and continuity of care
- Strong client communication skills paired with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Prior involvement in working with students with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
