We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shuttle Bus Driver for a senior living community. As a Shuttle Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting residents and visitors safely and comfortably while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor. Duties
- Safely operate shuttle buses and other commercial vehicles to transport residents, staff, and visitors within designated routes.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during each trip.
- Assist residents with boarding and disembarking, offering respectful support especially to those with mobility challenges or special needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic mechanical checks of the vehicle to ensure optimal operation.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes or schedules as needed.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to ensure safety standards are upheld.
- Follow all safety protocols related to paratransit, school bus driving, and senior care transportation services.
- Foster a welcoming environment by demonstrating excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards all passengers.
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles, including paratransit or school bus operations.
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations, vehicle maintenance basics, and safety procedures.
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities.
- Ability to work with children, seniors, and individuals with special needs with patience and compassion.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance awareness.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to handle behavior management effectively when needed.
- Writing skills for documentation or incident reporting; teaching or childcare experience is advantageous for engaging with residents.
