Point Independence Yacht Club | Onset, MA
www.piyconset.com
Spend your days on the water instead of behind a desk.
Point Independence Yacht Club (PIYC) is seeking a hands-on, self-motivated professional to oversee the daily operation of our historic waterfront club.
This isn't a traditional facilities management position. It's an opportunity to become an important part of a close-knit boating community where every day is different. You'll lead a small seasonal team, interact with members and visiting boaters, oversee marina operations, maintain a beautiful waterfront property, and help ensure one of the area's most respected yacht clubs continues to operate at a high level.
If you're someone who enjoys staying active, solving problems, leading by example, and taking pride in your work, we'd like to meet you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the clubhouse, docks, fuel dock, and waterfront facilities.
- Hire, train, schedule, and lead seasonal dock attendants.
- Help maintain the clubhouse, grounds, and marina to the high standards expected by our members.
- Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and outside contractors.
- Manage fuel dock operations, Dockwa reservations, and waterfront services.
- Prepare the club for member and club regatta events, and private functions.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to members, guests, and visiting boaters.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys being part of the action—not watching from the sidelines.
The ideal candidate is a working manager who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. One day you might be coaching dock attendants, the next troubleshooting a maintenance issue, assisting a member at the fuel dock, preparing for an event, or working alongside your team to keep the property looking its best.
You don't wait to be told what needs to be done—you notice it, take ownership, and get it done. Professionalism, integrity, and a positive, forward-thinking attitude are essential.
Qualifications
- Experience in facilities management, marina operations, hospitality, property maintenance, or a similar leadership role is preferred.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- General mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors in a New England waterfront environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Boating or marina experience is helpful but not required.
Why PIYC?
- Work in a beautiful waterfront setting along the south coast of Massachusetts.
- Every day brings something different.
- Lead a small team while remaining actively involved.
- Become part of a welcoming boating community with nearly 120 years of history.
- Enjoy a position that offers independence, variety, and the satisfaction of seeing the results of your work every day.
Schedule
This is a full-time, year-round position. Flexibility is required during the boating season, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as club activities require.
Compensation
Competitive salary based on experience.
If you're looking for a position where you can lead, stay active, solve problems, and take pride in maintaining a first-class waterfront facility, we'd love to hear from you.
