Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Family Law practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various areas of law with a focus on Family law, in addition to strong legal research and drafting skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential in supporting our attorneys and providing exceptional service to our clients during sensitive legal matters.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information.
- Assist attorneys in preparing, reviewing, and filing legal documents and pleadings.
- Organize, maintain, and manage case files and legal documentation.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- Schedule hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetings.
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, evidence, and case materials.
- Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Perform document review and ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and court procedures.
- Stay informed on updates and changes in family law regulations and procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Prior experience in family law strongly preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, and document preparation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent phone etiquette.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
