Our HVAC manufacturing company is seeking to add some welders to our team. We're looking for a dedicated individual who will show up for work on time, and who will thrive in a team-oriented environment. Successful candidates will have experience in industrial welding, structural welding and be capable of reading blueprints and follow instructions. We need to fill this position immediately, so it's important to hit the ground running.
Primary Responsibilities
- Test and inspect welded surface and structure to discover flaws
- Align components using calipers, rulers and clamp pieces
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Extensive knowledge of various welding techniques, including MIG welding, spot welding and operation of a cutting torch
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Assist in other areas as needed
Additional Responsibilities
- Inform supervisors of any part of equipment defects to ensure safe operation, and if/when a machine is locked out, and cannot be used
- Operate within standard operating procedures and job safety analysis
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
Education, Skills, & Other Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- 2+ years' experience in welding
- Must pass drug screen
- Must know how to read tap measure, blueprints, and welding diagrams
- Must be willing to work overtime when required
- Must be able to work in a team with others
- Must be able to follow instructions
- Must have steel/composite toed work shoes
Working Conditions
- Work in manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise and fumes
- Fast-paced environment with moving objects, sharp edges, and congested working areas
- Will be pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching overhead, grasping, and lifting to 50 pounds
Performance Criteria
- Must pass welding test
- Practice good housekeeping
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must meet established attendance policy and work overtime when required
- Must perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
