About the role
Allenberry is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team. Set along the Yellow Breeches Creek in Boiling Springs, Allenberry is a historic property with multiple dining venues, a full-service spa, and the storied Allenberry Playhouse, hosting guests for weekends, weddings, and milestone celebrations.
You'll prepare and cook food for daily restaurant service alongside a tight-knit kitchen crew. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in clean, consistent, from-scratch cooking from prep through close.
What you'll do
- Prep fresh produce, proteins, sauces, and garnishes for the day's service.
- Prepare and cook menu items to recipe and to plate.
- Keep your station clean, organized, and stocked throughout service.
- Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation before dishes go out.
- Communicate clearly with the Sous Chef and fellow line cooks.
- Help with inventory, deliveries, and rotation as needed.
Required
- Professional kitchen experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering setting.
- Comfortable on the line during a busy service.
- Strong knife skills and solid knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
- Reliable, on-time, and a good teammate.
- Weekend availability — our Friday and Saturday dinners, plus Sunday brunch, are our busiest services.
Preferred
- ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain — we'll help).
- A from-scratch cooking background and pride in clean, consistent plates.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation.
