Responsibilities
- Assist senior mechanics with diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors
- Support vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire service, brake repair, suspension adjustments, and wheel alignments
- Handle basic fabrication tasks using power tools and welding equipment to modify or repair machinery components
- Operate heavy equipment like loaders or small machinery under supervision to gain practical experience
- Read schematics and technical manuals to understand mechanical systems and assist in troubleshooting complex issues
- Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
- Support the assembly, disassembly, and repair of industrial equipment and farm machinery
Requirements
- Prior experience or familiarity with dealership service environments is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge across various systems including hydraulics, transmissions, air brakes, electrical systems, and diesel engines
- Experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or tractor-trailers is a plus
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering tools safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems repair for trucks and farm machinery
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail when interpreting schematics and technical manuals
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and perform maintenance tasks in various environmental conditions
- Customer service mindset with clear communication skills for team collaboration
