JOB Under general supervision of Facility Administrator, Juvenile Supervision Officer is available to perform the duties of the job on an "as needed" basis in order to provide care and protection to youth being held in the Ellis County Short-Term Detention Center. The Juvenile Short-Term Detention Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when youth are in custody. Officers will supervise juveniles of the same gender who are in custody by following an established schedule of activities and duties. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Ability to report on time to a scheduled shift when called, based on the department's need for juvenile supervision
- Provide complete supervision of youth who are in custody as outlined in the Facility Procedures Manual for each 8-hour shift
- Duties include, but are not limited to, serving meals, maintaining a clean and sanitary facility, providing juveniles access to restrooms and shower facilities
- Transport youth and/or act as an escort to appointments, such as court, assessments and other facilities
- Maintain records as required
- Other duties as assigned by Facility Administrator and/or Director
