About Samara Capital
Samara Capital is an independent, owner-operated wealth management firm in the Portland area. We are deliberately built to do more for fewer clients. Rather than chasing scale, we focus our energy on a select group of families and business owners, and we give each of them the kind of attention that feels like having a financial concierge at their fingertips. Our clients reach out when something matters, and we go the extra mile to make their financial lives simpler, calmer, and better organized.
We are a small close team, which means the person in this role works directly with our principal and advisors, sees the whole business, and has a real hand in shaping how we serve people. If you want to be one of many cogs at a large firm, this is not the place. If you want your work to help shape the future of this company, it is.
The Role
We are looking for a Client Concierge to be the person our clients feel taken care of by, and the person who keeps the day to day running smoothly behind the scenes. This is a client-facing role with a substantial service and operations component, and a genuine path forward into financial planning and advisory work for the right person.
Day to day, you will be the steady hand that anticipates what clients and advisors need and handles it before anyone has to ask. You will coordinate the details, prepare the paperwork, track the follow-through, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Over time, as you learn the business and earn trust, you will take on more planning and advisory responsibility.
What You Will Do
- Be a primary point of contact for clients, delivering concierge-level service by phone, email, and in person, and making every interaction feel personal and well handled.
- Schedule and coordinate client meetings across multiple advisors, managing competing calendars and priorities.
- Collect, organize, and track client documents for onboarding, reviews, and ongoing service needs.
- Prepare Schwab paperwork and process custodial requests for account servicing, transfers, distributions, and other client needs.
- Support advisors before and after client meetings by preparing materials, communicating with clients pre- and post-review, and turning meeting notes into clear, actionable follow-up tasks.
- Create and manage follow-up tasks in our software, and own them through to completion.
- Monitor client alerts and flag items that need an advisor's attention.
- Become proficient across our technology stack (including Advyzon, eMoney and our AI notetaking software) and use these tools to make our service faster and more consistent.
- Build, document, and continually improve our standard operating procedures and workflows in Advyzon to strengthen and elevate the client experience.
- Maintain accurate records, handle administrative work, and run the occasional errand that keeps the office and our clients well served.
- Prepare and help maintain financial plans in eMoney under advisor direction, including entering client data, building scenarios, and updating plans as clients' situations change.
- Pitch in on research and marketing projects where an extra set of capable hands makes a difference.
Who We Are Looking For
We care more about who you are than about a specific resume. The person who thrives here has a high degree of agency. You notice what needs to be done and you do it, without waiting to be told. You take ownership of problems from start to finish. In a small firm there is no script, and that is the part you enjoy.
We are looking for someone who:
- Takes initiative and follows through, and treats clients' needs as their own.
- Communicates warmly and clearly, both in writing and in person.
- Is exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, and genuinely cares about getting the small things right.
- Builds trust and relationships naturally. We are not looking for a salesperson, we are looking for someone clients are glad to hear from.
- Is comfortable learning new software and using it well.
- Wants to grow into financial planning and advisory work over time.
Experience requirements:
- 2+ years in financial services, client service, account management, or another role in financial services that shows you can own complex work and take care of people. Strong career-changers are welcome and encouraged to apply.
- A bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Familiarity with a CRM, custodial paperwork, or financial planning software.
Your Path Forward
We offer a defined growth track from client service and operations into financial planning and advisory work, with mentorship from experienced advisors, support toward licensing and the CFP, and steadily increasing responsibility as you are ready for it. How fast you move is largely up to you.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range of $72,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience.
- Discretionary annual bonus opportunity.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
A Note on Fit
Join a collaborative, owner-led firm where your work has a direct and visible impact on real people's financial lives, where your growth is encouraged, and where going the extra mile is noticed and valued. If that sounds like the kind of place you have been looking for, we would love to hear from you.
Employment Contingencies
This position is subject to a background check, and offers of employment are contingent on satisfactory results. The advisory growth track requires the ability to become licensed and registered, including no disqualifying regulatory history.
