Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure resident health and safety
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or cognitive disabilities, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication-related activities
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining personal hygiene routines
- Engage in effective communication with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, and memory support strategies
- Hands-on experience with vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and first aid/CPR certification required
- Familiarity with home & community care settings or long-term care environments is advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while supporting resident mobility needs
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective client communication and group home or retirement home experience is a plus
