POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Educator is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical education programs to meet the educational needs of clinical staff. This role collaborates with all members of the healthcare team to ensure effective and impactful education. The Clinical Educator also plays a vital role in organizing and leading educational initiatives that support the development of the nursing and clinical team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as a Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- BCLS certification required.
- Three years of clinical experience as an RN.
- Three years of leadership experience in nursing (management, education) or the equivalent.
- Inpatient behavioral health experience preferred.
- Ability to organize effective programs for adult learners.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive professional relationships.
AGE OF PATIENTS SERVED AND AGE-SPECIFIC TECHNOLOGY:
- Adult Population: Age 18 and up.
- Knowledge of growth and development principles, including adult and geriatric stages, to provide age-appropriate interventions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate, plan, and implement all orientation programs.
- Assist with ongoing education for clinical staff.
- Plan and provide in-service education on policies and procedures as needed.
- Assess staff education needs and develop corresponding educational programs.
- Serve on various task forces and committees as required.
- Provide educational consultation for clinical areas when needed.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of annual nursing competencies.
- Develop, revise, and update policies and procedures as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
