Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors with a warm, professional demeanor, and assist with check-in procedures, including verifying personal information, insurance details, and collecting co-payments.
- Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate follow-ups, and manage cancellations to optimize clinic flow.
- Manage incoming calls promptly, answer patient inquiries clearly, and direct calls to appropriate departments or providers.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area while adhering to privacy regulations and safety standards in outpatient settings.
- Prepare and update electronic health record (EHR) systems with accurate patient data, medical history, and ICD coding for diagnoses.
Skills:
- Professional, punctual, and dependable.
- Required: Fluency in English and Spanish to assist patients of diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of HIPAA policy.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an administrative role in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and familiarity with medical-surgical documentation processes.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and compassionately.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently in fast-paced settings such as outpatient clinics or Level II trauma centers.
