Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Program Description: Goddard Riverside’s 140 West 140th Residence, located in West Harlem, provides affordable, permanent supportive housing for 48 previously homeless adults suffering from mental illness and/or chemical addictions. The building consists of 48 fully furnished studio apartments, offices for the social service and building staff, a recreation room/tenant lounge, kitchen, library and backyard. On-site services include case management, entitlement assistance, medical care, work readiness training, meals programs, 24-hour/7 –day front desk security, on site group activities, substance use counseling and medical and therapeutic care.
Position Summary: West 140th Street is looking for a dynamic individual who will work with the Program Director to ensure the quality and integrity of the program. This person must be innovative, creative, detailed oriented, strengths based, with organizational skills that will promote a proactive, high energy work ethic and positive work environment. The Assistant Program Director is responsible for integrating services, staff supervision, and assuming leadership of West 140th in the absence on the Program Director.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 am too 5:00 pm
Salary Range: $70,000-$75,000
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
Program oversight and quality assurance
Ensure provision of quality and timely services, including psychiatric and medical care, entitlements, assessments and treatment planning, and linkages to day program, clubhouses, employments, and recovery.
Ensure that all documentation (including, but not limited to, progress notes, service plans, assessments, health forms, reports, consent forms etc.) is completed by direct service staff in a timely manner and within established deadlines as per agency and funding sources standards.; provide coaching on West 140th Street policies and procedures and clinical practice.
Provide weekly supervision to non-clinical staff; promote staff development; evaluate their work and initiate disciplinary action when required
Complete staff performance evaluations
Participate in intake/admission meetings
Provide support coordinating care of all onsite treatment providers including but not limited to scheduling
Complete sign in/sign out and follow up coordination of onsite services
Work to establish a results orientated framework using data as a tool to improve service deliverables
Run and analyze data reports on service deliverables and use data to tailor supervision agenda
Oversee Clinical Integration Project onsite and manage project deliverables
Track virtual and in person trainings for non-clinical staff
Track, monitor, and report all positive COVID cases and or symptom
Ensure all incident reporting and follow up is done thoroughly and in a timely manner
Ensure data collection and timely reporting utilizing AWARDS and other reporting systems
Ensure that the team provides an empowering, client-centered approach to case management that demonstrates care and promotes housing and income stability
Ensure the team maintains contact with clients based on assessed needs, program policies, and funding guidelines.
Supervise the maintenance of adequate and up-to-date records on all the tenants as well as supervise record-keeping responsibilities of staff.
2) Participate as a West 140th Street team member
Collaborate with staff in other GRCC programs to coordinate client service
Attend weekly Clinical Integration Project meetings
Attend staff meetings, case conferences, training programs and supervision meetings
Participate in planning and leading group activities
Foster teamwork approach to client service planning and help ensure client centered services, utilizing evidenced based practices.
Collaborate to maintain an active resource directory
Coverage of caseload when understaffed
Serve as Acting Director in the Director’s absence
Assist Program Director in serving as liaison to other community services; attend meetings and develop new linkages
Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
Demonstrated ability to manage projects and personnel effectively and to work productively independently or as a team member or leader
Other duties as required
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience
Supervisory experience strongly preferred
Experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness
Experience with mental illness and substance use
Experience working with formerly homeless adults
Experience working with Supportive Housing required
Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus

Familiar with cloud-based payroll platforms such as Paycom (supervisor/manager functionality)
Able to use or learn other electronic databases, programs, and funder-related software as needed
Moderate computer work; occasional lifting of up to 30lbs.
Some client escorts and some climbing stairs to visit clients in their apartments
Walking around the building; completing apartment inspections with the Building Manager
