Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Commercial Carpenter with proven experience in Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent role, for several projects in the Modesto, CA area. Your ability to interpret blueprints, utilize hand and power tools efficiently, and work safely on construction sites will ensure the successful completion of projects on time and to exact specifications.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute carpentry tasks.
- Construct, install, repair, and maintain structures such as framing, siding, roofing, drywall, doors, windows, cabinets, and fixtures.
- Operate hand tools (e.g., saws, hammers, chisels) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, grinders) safely and effectively on various projects.
- Measure and cut materials precisely for framing, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and custom fabrication.
- Perform concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, plastering, stucco application, and water damage restoration as needed.
- Assist with remodeling projects including flooring installation, tile laying, electrical wiring setup, plumbing rough-ins, and painting.
- Support restoration efforts by handling mold remediation, water damage repairs, siding replacement, fixture installation, and general handyman tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes while maintaining a clean and organized job site.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Carpenter or similar role with a strong background in construction estimating and project execution.
- Extensive knowledge of construction techniques including framing (wooden and metal), roofing systems, drywall installation, cabinetry, door hanging, siding application, and flooring installation.
- Skilled in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation for precise project planning.
- Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., chisels, hammers), power tools (e.g., saws, drills), CNC machinery for fabrication tasks is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working at heights or in confined spaces on construction sites.
- Experience with concrete forming systems; rebar installation; plastering; stucco; metal stud framing; electrical; plumbing; masonry; tile setting; roofing; cabinetry; fixture installation; caulking; water damage restoration; mold remediation; manufacturing processes; renovation industry standards; siding applications; drywall finishing; remodeling projects; flooring installation.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating processes to assist with project planning and resource allocation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to read technical drawings accurately.
- Valid certifications related to construction safety (OSHA), equipment operation (forklift certification if applicable), or specialized trades are preferred but not mandatory.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
