Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Restaurant Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests. In this vital role, you will create a warm and inviting atmosphere by greeting guests, managing reservations, and coordinating seating arrangements efficiently. Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival with a friendly and professional demeanor, establishing a positive first impression
- Manage restaurant reservation systems to confirm bookings, update waitlists, and optimize seating arrangements using restaurant table management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Coordinate with the dining staff to ensure timely seating and smooth flow of guests throughout service hours
- Answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing information about wait times, reservations, and general inquiries
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times accurately to guests while managing guest expectations effectively
- Assist with guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and courteously
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station in compliance with food safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a similar customer service role within a restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems and POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to handle phone communication professionally
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage reservations, seating plans, and guest flow efficiently
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlist calculations, and table management
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure guest well-being
- Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding guest services and foster positive guest relations
- Experience with restaurant table management systems and familiarity with hospitality industry operations
