Job Purpose: The Assembly Electrician is responsible for installing, routing, connecting, and testing electrical systems and components throughout the boat manufacturing process. This position ensures all electrical installations meet company quality standards, safety requirements, and engineering specifications while supporting production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:

Install and route electrical wiring, harnesses, cables, and connections throughout boats during the assembly process.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and work instructions.

Install and connect electrical components including batteries, switches, circuit breakers, fuse panels, pumps, lighting, navigation equipment, touchscreen displays, audio systems, and accessories.

Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting to verify proper operation of all systems.

Identify and correct wiring issues, faulty connections, and electrical component failures.

Ensure electrical systems are installed according to company standards, ABYC regulations, and applicable marine industry requirements.

Work within established production roll times while maintaining quality standards.

Inspect completed work to ensure functionality, reliability, and overall quality.

Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other production team members to resolve installation issues.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.

Knowledge of DC electrical systems and marine electrical components preferred.

Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, wire crimpers, electrical testing equipment, and diagnostic tools.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and components.

Understanding of electrical safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Basic computer skills and ability to utilize electronic work instructions when required.
Education and Experience:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent level of training.
-
One or more years of experience in electrical assembly, manufacturing, marine, automotive, RV, or related electrical experience preferred.

Vocational, technical, or trade school training in electrical systems is a plus.

Experience with 12V and 24V DC electrical systems preferred.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.

Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.

Must be able to climb into and out of interior of boats.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary.

Must be able to use hand tools and electrical testing equipment for extended periods.

Must be able to distinguish wire colors and identify electrical connections accurately.

Keep the work area clean and orderly.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions, a normal office environment or factory environment that is not climate controlled. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The factory in certain areas maintains a high fiberglass and dust environment.
Personal Protective Equipment might be required in certain areas of the factory including but not limited to safety glasses, respirator, hearing protection, gloves, and protective garments.
