Join our dynamic team as a Sand Haulers LOCAL CLASS A Driver and take charge of transporting bulk sand materials efficiently and safely within local routes. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailer trucks equipped for hauling sand, including flatbed and tanker configurations when necessary
- Navigate local routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries and pickups
- Load and unload cargo with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of freight according to safety standards
- Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo handling records in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery status, and any issues encountered during transit
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Class A designation for tractor-trailer operation
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with freight involving sand or similar bulk materials
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed hauling, tanker operations, and hazardous materials regulations is preferred
- Strong knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes within local areas
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks comfortably and perform manual handling tasks for cargo loading/unloading
- Excellent driving record with adherence to FMCSA, DOT, and hazardous materials regulations
- Experience in delivery driving with a focus on logistics cargo handling and truck loading/unloading procedures
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform manual handling tasks as required
