Are you an experienced accounting professional looking to grow in a client-focused CPA firm? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Tax/Staff Accountant with at least 4 years of public accounting experience to join our team.
About the role
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of business and individual clients, prepare and review complex tax returns, and help oversee day‑to‑day accounting engagements. You’ll work closely with partners, provide proactive tax planning advice, and serve as a key point of contact for clients throughout the year.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
- Research tax issues and support clients with planning strategies and compliance questions.
- Communicate directly with clients, building strong relationships and providing timely responses.
- Mentor junior staff, review work for accuracy, and contribute to training and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA license or active progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum 4+ years of public accounting experience, with significant tax preparation and small‑business accounting exposure.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and federal/state tax compliance.
- Proficiency with tax and accounting software and solid Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
