The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated, self-driven Outside Sales Representative to grow our janitorial and sanitation supply business across South Texas. This role focuses primarily on government sales (school districts, cities, counties, universities, and other public entities), with additional commercial account development.
What You Will Do
- Prospect, develop, and close new government accounts (ISDs, cities, counties, universities, housing authorities, and other public entities) using our cooperative purchasing contract.
- Develop and manage commercial accounts for janitorial, sanitation, and cleaning supplies
- Conduct in-person sales calls, product demonstrations, and facility visits throughout the territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with purchasing departments, maintenance directors, and facility managers.
- Prepare quotes and proposals using contract pricing.
- Coordinate with internal team on order processing, special sourcing requests, and delivery logistics.
- Attend weekly pipeline review meetings and maintain accurate records of prospects, contacts, and sales activity.
- Identify customer needs and recommend products from our catalog of 1,500+ janitorial and sanitation items.
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
What We Are Looking For
Required
- 2+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in janitorial/sanitation, foodservice, or distribution.
- Proven track record of prospecting, developing, and closing B2B and/or government accounts.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation — this is a field-based role with daily travel across the territory.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Comfortable with in-person cold calls, product demos, and building relationships face-to-face.
- Organized and disciplined — able to manage a pipeline of 30+ prospects and follow through consistently.
- Basic proficiency with email, Excel, and CRM or sales tracking tools.
Preferred
- Experience selling to school districts, municipalities, or government agencies.
- Familiarity with cooperative purchasing programs (TIPS, BuyBoard, HGAC, Region One, DIR, etc.).
- Knowledge of janitorial/sanitation products, chemicals, and cleaning equipment.
- Existing relationships with purchasing contacts in South Texas government entities.
