Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin is looking for a Full-time Head Athletic Trainer! This position is part of a partnership with a high school on Milwaukee's North Shore and will provide comprehensive athletic training services to student-athletes across all sports programs. This role will assess and manage injuries, oversee day-to-day athletic training operations, and serve as the primary point of contact between athletes, coaches, and physicians.
- ATC certification required.
- 1-2 years of full-time athletic training experience preferred.
What You Will Do
Assess injuries and manage comprehensive treatment programs to prevent injury and rehabilitate student-athletes.
- Design and implement injury prevention and rehabilitation programs tailored to a high school athletic population.
- Develop and oversee conditioning programs for both injured and non-injured athletes, incorporating individualized training schedules and guidance in coordination with coaching staff.
- Evaluate and manage injuries. Maintain accurate medical documentation for each athlete and serve as a liaison between physicians, athletes, parents, and coaching staff.
- Prepare athletes for practice and competition in accordance with team schedules, WIAA regulations, and in conjunction with physician and sports performance staff.
- Participate in relationship building between the high school athletic program and Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Athletic Trainer credentialed from the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers Affiliated Credentialing Board required prior to hire date.
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 60 days of hire date.
Education:
- Graduate of a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education program.
