Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during acute episodes.
- Facilitate intake processes for new clients, including medical documentation, HIPAA compliance, and thorough case management.
- Provide specialized counseling for issues such as PTSD care, grief counseling, addiction counseling, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Maintain meticulous medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA standards while utilizing CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Engage in clinical research activities and data collection to support ongoing treatment efficacy studies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in outpatient or inpatient settings to develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate social work principles and behavioral health best practices.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to extend access to therapy services while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with medical terminology standards.
Skills
- Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Strong experience in child & family counseling, pediatrics, geriatrics, and working with people with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Skilled in crisis intervention, crisis management, behavior management, and trauma-informed care such as PTSD care.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis coding and billing procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health counseling practices.
- Ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations using evidence-based assessment tools; experience with intake procedures is essential.
- Excellent communication skills for individual / group counseling sessions; adept at patient care and patient assessment processes.
- Experience working within outpatient or inpatient clinical settings; familiarity with hospital experience is a plus.
- Competence in research methodologies related to clinical research; data collection skills are highly valued.
- Proficiency in telehealth technology platforms ensuring HIPAA compliance during remote sessions.
- Understanding of special education needs when working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities.
