Job Overview
BQC Foundry is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining foundry production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance experience, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and a proven track record of diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in a manufacturing environment.
This role requires a hands-on individual who is dependable, safety-focused, and willing to work overtime, weekends, and respond to emergencies when necessary to support production needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain foundry equipment including furnaces, molding equipment, grinders, conveyors, compressors, dust collection systems, pumps, and other production machinery.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Install, modify, and upgrade equipment and machinery as needed.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and machine repair work when required.
- Troubleshoot motors, drives, sensors, relays, contactors, and other industrial electrical components.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend equipment or process improvements.
- Assist with facility maintenance including HVAC systems, plumbing, compressed air systems, and building repairs.
- Coordinate and work with outside contractors during maintenance projects and equipment installations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inventory usage within the maintenance management system.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and machine guarding requirements.
- Train and mentor less experienced maintenance technicians when needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; foundry experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting industrial production equipment.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, and motor control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other maintenance-related equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in varying positions throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in a hot, dusty, and industrial foundry environment.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
Work Schedule and Expectations
- Regular schedule: Monday through Friday.
- Must be available to work overtime as needed.
- Must be willing to stay late to complete repairs and support production demands.
- Must be available for weekend work when necessary.
- Must participate in on-call coverage and respond to maintenance emergencies when required.
- Attendance and reliability are critical to the success of this position.

7am -3:30pm
9am -5:30pm
