Duties
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, fluid checks, and filter replacements to ensure optimal vehicle performance
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to troubleshoot mechanical issues accurately
- Conduct safety inspections on heavy trucks and industrial equipment to uphold safety standards and compliance
- Assist senior mechanics with assembly, disassembly, and equipment repairs involving power tools
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed
Skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge with a strong interest in diesel mechanics and vehicle systems repair
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, tire service, air brakes, alignment, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and hydraulics
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members regarding vehicle or equipment issues
- Willingness to learn new skills related to heavy truck repair, suspension systems, automotive electrical systems, and maintenance procedures
