Swim Instructor - Group, Private, and Semi-Private
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required:
- Current certification in CPR/First Aid/AED (adult, child, and infant prefered) * or ability to obtain certification in first 90 days of start date.
- Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.
- Thorough knowledge and application of swimming and water safety skills *
- Thorough knowledge and application of teaching the swimming and water safety skills *
- An understanding of the facility, safety prcedures, rules, and policies *
- Communication skills with Coastal Fitness Center’s staff, swim participants, and parents’ of the swimmers to ensure expectations are clearly defined by both parties involved *
- Self-starter with decision making ability to serve the clients and acheive results, while increasing participant retention and a positive swimming experience *
Responsibiliies:
- Adapt your teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of participants, so they can meet objectives of each course *
- Provide for the health and safety of participants, including ensuring that all teaching and practice area are free of hazards, and that materials and equipment are safe *
- Communicate regularly with participants and their parents, as appropriate to ensure they are aware of progress *
- Explain rules to all participants prior to beginning lessons, including but not limited to showering prior to entering the water, no running on the pool deck, no bandaids or gum in the pool, and all swimmers must exit through the locker rooms and be completely dry before walking through the gym facility. *
- Schedule and book private and semi-private lessons in the MindBody system *
- Clock in and out accurrately for group swim lessons - employees may clock in no more than 15 minutes before their scheduled lesson time and must clock out no more than 15 minutes after their scheduled lesson time *
Availability:
- Looking for availability through out the day, especially mornings and early afternoon
- Available private lesson times:
Mon-Thurs 11am-4*pm
Fri 10am-5*pm
Saturday 9am-4*pm
Sunday 11am-2:30*pm
(*lessons must be completed by these times)
Swim Team Assisstant Coach
- Looking for evening availability 4 days a week: Mon-Thurs 3:45-8:15
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $16.00 per hour
