Willow Loft Preschool – Teacher Aide Opportunity (Afternoon)
Compensation: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Friday, 12:30pm-3:30pm
Start Date: August 11th, with a few training days early August.
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Teacher Aide to join our team at Willow Loft Preschool. This is a long-term position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and confident communicating with both parents and children, building positive relationships, and fostering trust. You’ll play a key role in shaping young minds while maintaining a nurturing and engaging environment for children aged 3-5.
Responsibilities:
- Use a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, play, etc.) to foster learning and growth.
- Observe and assess each child’s development to build social skills and self-esteem.
- Guide children in developing artistic, practical, and cognitive abilities through carefully planned activities.
- Collaborate effectively with other teachers and assistants.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum age of 18.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Pass a background check and fingerprinting.
- Experience working with young children in a professional setting.
- Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (must be completed within 30 days of hire if not already acquired).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to provide personal transportation to meet work schedule requirements.

About Us:
Willow Loft Preschool follows a schedule aligned closely with the Anchorage School District calendar. We are a small, private program that values structure, creativity, and a respectful, low-stress environment. Our program serves children ages 3–5 years and offers a supportive and collaborative teaching atmosphere. In addition to teaching, your role will include administrative tasks, facilitating group activities, cleaning, and engaging with children through play.
