Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to standardized recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients with knife skills and proper technique
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards in production
- Support menu planning efforts by ensuring ingredient availability and freshness for daily specials and regular offerings
- Follow food handling procedures meticulously to ensure safety and quality in every dish served
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with food industry standards for sanitation, cleaning, and food handling
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members
- Prior catering or meal prep experience is advantageous but not mandatory
