POSITION SUMMARY: The CGO Graduate Assistant serves to connect Bob Jones University students, faculty, and staff to evangelistic and community service endeavors in the Greenville area and beyond.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Coordinator of Outreach & Evangelism in the duties, functions, and responsibilities of that role
- Interact regularly with local churches and community organizations
- Assist in the coordination of 3-4 large-scale evangelistic outreach events per year
- Assist with management of recruitment events (GO Week, Summer Ministry Conference, etc.)
- Aid in the establishment and facilitation of ongoing outreach ministry opportunities (i.e., Miracle Hill, nursing homes, CEF, etc.)
- Work with CGO staff to promote evangelism within the student body
- Assist the Coordinator of Outreach & Evangelism in developing evangelistic training and materials for the student body
- Assist the Coordinator of Outreach & Evangelism to provide oversight for outreach ministries from the student body and societies
- Provide support for Missions Advance and the Community Service Council
- Accomplish special projects as required by the CGO Director
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Fervent walk with the Lord and heart for evangelism and service
- Excellent writing, editing, and generally superior communication skills
- Competency with social media and graphic design skills
- Superior people skills
- Capable of handling multiple CGO projects simultaneously
- Positive attitude, team player
- Self-starter; above average organizational skills
- Microsoft Office
This GA position is available only to those pursuing post-graduate studies at Bob Jones University. Eligibility is based on the condition of having met the academic requirements for a student enrolled in a graduate program. To retain employment, you must be registered for and complete coursework for 6 to 10 credit hours each fall and spring semester.
