Overview
The Shelter Operations Manager is responsible for data entry, completing client files, overseeing shelter maintenance and daily operations of shelter. The Shelter Operations Manager will report to the Director of Domestic Violence Services.
Expectations
All Turning Point employees are expected to work toward the mission of the agency with respect and integrity, serving as ambassadors of Turning Point throughout the community. Employees must maintain the confidentiality of clients, staff and the agency, and follow all rules and agency policies.
Qualifications
1. Two years college preferred
2. Three years' experience working in the domestic violence field preferred
3. Experience with excel spreadsheets
4. Organization skills
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the front desk including but not limited to answering the phone, answering the door, greeting guests and making sure confidentiality forms are signed.
2. Ensure the building is secured at all times
3. Ensure all staff is trained in the security procedures of the shelter, including how to operate the alarm and security systems.
4. Oversee the building is kept neat, clean and in good repair at all times. Have cleaning list with daily, monthly and seasonal cleaning tasks. Oversee these tasks.
5. Oversee the building is kept free from safety hazards at all times (Example – cleaning products out of the reach of children, etc.)
6. Coordinate shelter maintenance and repairs (structure, donation building, major equipment, and grounds)
7. Ensure shelter supplies are kept stocked
8. Oversee Grounds Crew
10. Oversee regular inspections (alarm, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, exterminator, lawn care, fire inspection)
11. Conduct monthly fire drills
12. Oversee all laws and regulations relating to health, safety and ADA
13. Oversee cleaning of the facility (routine and deep cleaning)
14. Oversee all emergency and disaster preparedness procedures
15. Ensure all supplies are on hand for an emergency (See Evacuation Plan Policies and Procedures)
16. Oversee first aid supplies and kits
General Management
1. Answer phones and doors according to security protocols throughout hours worked.
2. Oversee Transportation a. Oversee arrangement b. Oversee and account Billing
3. Cancel appointments when program staff is away from office if needed
5. Plan and oversee staff holiday party
6. Train volunteers a. Receptionist Desk/Answering Phones b. Program Issues as needed
Staff Responsibilities
1. Meet with supervisor on a daily/weekly basis as needed
2. Maintain compliance with all disability guidelines (implement and train staff on new accessibility requirements)
Grants management
1. Track statistics monthly to comply with all requirements required by funders
Other
1. Attend internal agency meetings, weekly staff meetings and program team meetings
3. Assist with crisis calls, complete intake and departure paperwork and files
6. Prepare shelter for visitors

Pay: Up to $19.00 per hour
