American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Recovery Postpartum position requiring proficiency in fetal monitoring and independent L&D practice.
-
>Work in a 6-bed Labor & Delivery unit with one C-section OR
-
Manage laboring patients, circulate and assist in C-sections, and recover both labor and surgical patients
-
Unit averages 100 deliveries monthly, collaborating with OBGYNs and midwives
-
Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
-
Works 4 days per week at 12 hours per shift, totaling 48 hours weekly
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
-
Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience required

Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred

Must be proficient in reading fetal monitoring strips

Proficient in Labor & Delivery nursing practice

Able to circulate for C-sections
-
Able to triage OB patients
-
Able to work independently without extensive oversight

Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director

Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
-
Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care
-
Assess discharge needs and support care planning for patients and families
-
Participate in unit goals, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives
-
Holiday coverage required for every other holiday
