Position Summary
Accurate Fabrication is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Driver to transport materials, components, and finished products between company facilities, vendors, customers, and designated locations. The Driver plays a critical role in ensuring on-time deliveries, maintaining accurate transportation records, and representing the company professionally while operating company vehicles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport materials, products, and supplies.
- Perform local and regional pickups and deliveries according to scheduled routes.
- Load, unload, and secure materials to prevent damage during transport.
- Verify shipment accuracy against packing slips, bills of lading, and delivery documentation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate delivery status, delays, or issues with supervisors and customers as needed.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities when not driving.
- Maintain accurate logs, mileage records, fuel receipts, and delivery documentation.
- Ensure company vehicles remain clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Follow all customer site requirements and safety protocols.
- Support inventory movement between departments and facilities as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of commercial, delivery, or transportation experience.
- Ability to safely operate trucks, vans, trailers, and material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules.
- Excellent attendance and dependability.
Preferred:
- CDL (Class A or B) preferred but not required.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles multiple times daily.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
