POSITION SUMMARY
The Simulation Pop-Up Assistant is a part-time position that supports the successful delivery of BizTown Pop-Up simulations in Volusia County. This role helps ensure that each simulation day runs smoothly, providing a positive and engaging experience for students, volunteers, and educators. The BizTown Assistant will assist with program facilitation, logistics, and on-site coordination to maintain instructional quality and operational excellence.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as an assistant facilitator or support facilitator for daily JA BizTown simulations, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes and organizational standards.
- Lead daily volunteer onboarding and coaching, customizing delivery based on group dynamics and program needs.
- Monitor program pacing and proactively troubleshoot issues in real-time, adjusting simulation flow to preserve learning value and constituent satisfaction.
- Collaborate with team members to assess and refine simulation procedures and volunteer experience tools.
- Prepare daily simulation resources, including replenishing supplies, customizing print materials, and ensuring technology functionality.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to simulation logistics, volunteer guidance systems, and technical workflows.
- Maintain a professional, clean, and welcoming simulation environment aligned with program expectations.
- Respond to volunteer, teacher and student inquiries throughout the simulation.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS
- Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills with diverse groups (students, volunteers, guests).
- Ability to independently manage time-sensitive simulation tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Confident decision-making in dynamic group environments with limited supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort troubleshooting basic simulation technology (tablets, printers, projection, Wi-Fi).
- Growth mindset with a focus on continuous program improvement.
- Strong collaboration skills and willingness to contribute to a team-oriented culture
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
