Job Summary
Veterans Decks Outdoor Living is seeking a dependable, self-motivated professional to join our growing team as a Field Operations Coordinator / Crew Leader.
This is not an entry-level labor position. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates effectively, solves problems proactively, and helps ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.
The ideal candidate will have construction or carpentry experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage job site activities while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Complete punch list items on active and completed projects
- Perform carpentry and construction-related tasks as needed
- Assist with job site management and daily operations
- Coordinate material deliveries and project logistics
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
- Communicate professionally with customers and address job-related concerns
- Ensure projects meet company quality standards
- Provide daily progress updates to company leadership on all active projects
- Document project progress through photos, notes, and daily updates
- Utilize company software to track project status, communicate updates, and maintain job documentation
- Communicate upcoming labor, material, scheduling, and customer needs to assist with planning and forecasting
- Identify potential issues before they impact production schedules
- Help maintain efficient communication between crews, customers, suppliers, and management
- Support field crews as needed to keep projects on schedule and on budget
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Construction, carpentry, or residential remodeling experience required
- Experience building composite decking and railing systems is a strong plus
- Ability to read plans and follow project specifications preferred
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and construction management software
- Ability to document project progress using photos, notes, and digital communication tools
- Experience with project management, scheduling, or construction software is a plus
- Ability to learn and utilize company technology systems for project tracking, communication, and reporting
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $25–$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, with higher compensation considered for candidates with proven leadership, project management, and deck-building experience.
