Job Summary
Come join our team as a Shop Trailer Mechanic, where you will be working with a skilled and dedicated team maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty trailers and equipment. Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics, and perform preventative maintenance on trailers and heavy equipment,
- Diagnose and repair brake systems, suspension components, electrical wiring, etc.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn trailer components
- Conduct DOT inspections of equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical issues in automotive and heavy equipment systems; perform diagnostics to identify root causes.
- Replace or repair shocks, tires, wheels and axles to maintain safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 9 months experience working as a mechanic on heavy equipment with strong knowledge of mechanical systems repair.
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team safely and efficiently.
- Some knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures, braking systems, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by excellent problem-solving skills; ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately.
- Commitment to helping maintain a safe and efficient shop.
- Excellent customer service skills for interacting with drivers and team members; understanding that our shop is a critical piece of our driver retention program. Training and advancement opportunities available for the right candidate!
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
