The Role
We're looking for an experienced, motivated Assistant Manager to help lead daily dispensary operations. You'll partner with the Store Manager to run the sales floor, coach the team, keep us compliant with New Mexico regulations, and deliver a consistently excellent customer experience. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be on the floor, in the numbers, and setting the tone for the team.
What You'll Do
- Supervise budtenders and support staff during shifts, including opening and closing the store
- Ensure every transaction and daily operation complies with New Mexico Cannabis Control Division rules and company policy
- Help manage inventory: receiving, counts, reconciliation, and tracking in the state seed-to-sale system
- Operate and troubleshoot the point-of-sale (POS) system; ensure accurate cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation
- Coach and train team members on products, service standards, and compliance
- Resolve customer questions and issues professionally, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment
- Support the Store Manager with scheduling, performance feedback, and daily reporting
- Keep the dispensary clean, organized, secure, and professional at all times
What We're Looking For
Required
Must be at least 21 years old
Valid federal, state, or local photo ID
Prior leadership or supervisory experience in retail, hospitality, or a similarly fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
Comfort with POS systems and basic computer tools
Reliable and available for a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and some holidays
Preferred
Previous cannabis dispensary or retail management experience
Familiarity with New Mexico cannabis compliance and seed-to-sale tracking
Knowledge of cannabis products and the ability to share it with customers and staff
Physical Requirements
Able to stand, walk, or sit for the length of a shift
Able to bend, stoop, squat, and reach periodically
Able to lift at least 45 lbs
