We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; accurately document findings in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Support medical staff by preparing patients for examinations or procedures, including assisting with basic medical tasks like catheter care and specimen collection.
- Maintain a safe environment by practicing proper manual handling techniques and using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
- Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to nursing staff, especially in critical care or behavioral health settings.
- Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Assist with medical documentation and ensure accurate recording of patient information in EMR/EHR systems for seamless communication across care teams.
Skills
- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; proficiency in medical terminology is preferred.
- Knowledge of critical care environments including ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), or hospital medicine settings.
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS), CPR, and other emergency response procedures confidently.
- Strong caregiver communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Experience working with patients requiring complex care such as hospice, infectious disease management, or post-acute/sub-acute care settings.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, safe patient transfers using mechanical lifts like Hoyer lifts, and manual handling practices while maintaining safety standards.
- Understanding of medical documentation practices including HIPAA compliance and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
