American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience and strong Level 2 nursery competency for a 13-week night shift contract at an acute care hospital in Washington state.

Acute care inpatient setting covering respiratory therapy services across the hospital
-
Primarily adult patient population, with some pediatric patients through the ED
-
Must be comfortable managing NICU patients, including bubble CPAP for infants 32 weeks and up (Level 2 nursery)

Approximately 25 treatments per day
-
Ventilator equipment includes PB 980, Philips V60, and Respironics Lumis
-
EMR: Epic (experience required)
-
Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Weekend rotation required
-
One holiday shift required
-
No call or floating requirements
-
4+ RTs on staff during night shifts; a lead therapist is present every shift
-
Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
-
NICU experience required, with demonstrated competency in bubble CPAP and care of infants 32 weeks gestation and up

Either RRT or CRT certification accepted
-
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
-
Active Washington state RT license required (license required if applicable); pending licenses will not be accepted

Epic EMR experience required

Ability to assist with intubation

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Responsibilities include drawing ABGs, bipap and ventilator setup, nebulizer treatments, and conscious sedation and cardioversion standby; RTs do not perform EKGs

Assist with intubation as needed; independent intubation is not required

Intensivist and hospitalist coverage available 24/7 in-house

Department-specific orientation provided

Unit manager phone interview required as part of the selection process

Personal scrubs in any color are acceptable

Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
