Medical Receptionist
At AFM, we are looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Medical Receptionist to join our functional medicine practice. As one of the first people our patients interact with, this role is an important part of making patients feel welcomed, cared for, and comfortable in our office.
We are a patient-focused practice and are looking for someone who is personable, communicates well, and enjoys getting to know patients while keeping the day-to-day operations of the office running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and general questions
- Schedule and manage appointments using OptiMantra EMR
- Greet patients and help create a welcoming and positive office environment
- Collect and process credit card payments
- Assist with billing
- Maintain accurate patient and appointment information within the EMR
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients by phone and in person
- Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA guidelines
- Assist the provider and clinical staff with general office and administrative needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; college degree or relevant college coursework preferred
- Previous receptionist or front-office experience
- Friendly and comfortable communicating with patients
- Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail
- Ability to manage phone calls, scheduling, and other responsibilities throughout the day
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- Comfortable learning and using electronic medical record systems
- Previous experience in a medical clinic or healthcare office is strongly preferred, particularly familiarity with medical terminology and common office procedures
- Experience with EMR systems or medical billing is a plus

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
