Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C/APRN)Waters of Wellness Family Medicine | Spring, Texas
Rediscover Why You Became a Nurse.
Some of the best clinicians entered healthcare because they wanted to care for people—not simply move from one appointment to the next.
At Waters of Wellness Family Medicine, we believe patients deserve to be heard, educated, and cared for as individuals. We are an independently owned family medicine practice that values relationships, critical thinking, and comprehensive primary care. Our providers have the time and support to practice medicine with intention while building lasting relationships with the families they serve.
If you’re looking for a practice where quality of care matters more than the number of patients seen each day, we’d love to meet you.
Who We Are
Waters of Wellness Family Medicine provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages—from newborns to seniors. We combine evidence-based medicine with a patient-centered philosophy that emphasizes prevention, education, healthy lifestyle choices, and individualized treatment plans.
We believe exceptional primary care can successfully manage many conditions while recognizing when specialty care is truly in the patient’s best interest. Our goal is always to provide the right care, at the right time, for the right reason.
Our Core Values
Patients Before Productivity
Every patient deserves to feel heard. We prioritize meaningful conversations, thoughtful evaluations, and individualized care over rushing through appointments.
Relationships Before Transactions
We strive to know our patients beyond their medical history. Trust is built over time, and we believe long-term relationships lead to better health outcomes.
Evidence Guides Us. Curiosity Keeps Us Learning.
We practice evidence-based medicine while remaining open to emerging research, lifestyle medicine, nutrition, and other integrative approaches that have scientific support and benefit our patients.
Conservative When Appropriate. Thorough When Necessary.
Not every problem requires another prescription or specialist referral. We value strong clinical judgment, appropriate diagnostic workups, and managing conditions within the scope of primary care whenever it is safe and appropriate.
Treat the Whole Person
Health is influenced by far more than medications alone. Nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, hormones, mental health, and preventive care all play important roles in helping patients live healthier lives.
Be the Provider You Would Want Caring for Your Own Family
This simple principle guides every decision we make.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner who enjoys practicing broad-spectrum primary care and wants to make a lasting impact on patients’ lives.
The ideal candidate:
- Has several years of bedside RN experience prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner.
- Emergency Department and/or Intensive Care Unit nursing experience is strongly preferred.
- Is comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan, including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Enjoys diagnosing and managing a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Possesses strong assessment skills and sound clinical judgment.
- Values patient education and shared decision-making.
- Is confident managing conditions within the scope of primary care while collaborating with specialists whenever specialty expertise provides the greatest benefit to the patient.
- Has an interest in preventive medicine and helping patients improve their long-term health.
- Is familiar with—or excited to learn about—evidence-based lifestyle medicine, nutrition, supplementation, weight management, hormone optimization, and other integrative approaches that complement traditional medical care.
- Is humble, collaborative, compassionate, and committed to lifelong learning.
While we welcome applicants from many backgrounds, we especially value clinicians whose years at the bedside helped develop their clinical judgment before advancing into practice as Nurse Practitioners.
What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages.
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries.
- Manage chronic medical conditions using current evidence-based guidelines.
- Perform annual wellness visits and preventive care.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies.
- Perform office-based procedures within your scope of practice.
- Develop individualized treatment plans.
- Educate patients regarding lifestyle modifications and preventive health.
- Collaborate with specialists when appropriate.
- Build long-term relationships with patients and their families.
QualificationsRequired
- Current Texas APRN License.
- Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C or equivalent).
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to independently manage patients of all ages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Three or more years of bedside RN experience prior to NP practice.
- Emergency Department or ICU nursing background.
- Previous primary care experience.
- Experience or interest in lifestyle medicine, obesity medicine, hormone optimization, nutrition, and integrative medicine.
- Experience performing common office procedures.
You’ll Thrive Here If…
- You became a nurse practitioner to build relationships, not simply complete visits.
- You enjoy solving complex clinical problems and thinking critically.
- You appreciate having enough time to thoroughly evaluate your patients.
- You believe listening is one of the most valuable clinical skills.
- You enjoy caring for entire families—from newborns to grandparents.
- You believe prevention is just as important as treatment.
- You want the freedom to educate patients and create individualized care plans.
- You believe healthy lifestyle changes can be just as impactful as medications for many conditions.
- You are always looking to grow as a clinician and enjoy learning new evidence-based approaches to patient care.
- You want to work somewhere your voice, ideas, and clinical judgment are respected.
This Position May Not Be the Right Fit If…
- You prefer a fast-paced, high-volume schedule where appointments are intentionally brief.
- You prefer to focus on a single patient population rather than caring for patients across all stages of life.
- You are uncomfortable managing a broad scope of primary care conditions.
- You prefer following standardized protocols without much independent clinical decision-making.
- You are not interested in continuing to learn or expand your clinical knowledge.
- You believe medications are the only effective treatment for chronic disease.
- You become frustrated by patients who need extra education, encouragement, or time.
- You view healthcare as a series of transactions instead of long-term relationships.
There is nothing wrong with those practice preferences—they simply aren’t who we are.
What You’ll Find Here
At Waters of Wellness, you’ll find:
- Time to build meaningful patient relationships.
- Clinical autonomy with collaborative support.
- A practice that encourages thoughtful medicine rather than checkbox medicine.
- Leadership that values provider well-being.
- Opportunities to expand your clinical knowledge and interests.
- A collaborative team that enjoys serving our community.
- A culture where quality of care comes before productivity metrics.
Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to practice medicine the way many clinicians envisioned when they first entered healthcare.
If you’re looking for a career—not just another job—and want to be part of a practice where your clinical judgment, compassion, and dedication are valued, we’d love to hear your story.
