Duties
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) on various metals.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure precise assembly and fabrication
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and schematics to measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal parts accurately
- Operate fabrication equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and pipe threading tools to produce high-quality components
- Follow all safety protocols according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes & standards during welding and fabrication processes
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections conducted, and materials used to ensure compliance with quality standards
Qualifications
- Prior construction site experience or exposure to manufacturing environments is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated entry-level candidates eager to learn
- Basic understanding of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements and fabrication tasks
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to welding equipment and construction sites; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, rigging, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical blueprint interpretation is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; proactive attitude towards learning new skills in welding and fabrication
Schedule
Full-Time (40 hours per week) with overtime opportunities.
