As a SQLApplication Engineer, you’ll strengthen the databases and supporting applications that teams rely on every day. You’ll translate stakeholder needs into durable data models, efficient SQL, and dependable backend services—then keep those solutions healthy, documented, and easy to support.
What you’ll do:
- Assess requirements and design, build, and maintain relational databases and their host environments
- Develop and deploy backend services and web interfaces that connect users and systems to data
- Create and implement custom automation for recurring application and database tasks
- Monitor performance and system health; troubleshoot database and related system issues
- Write and maintain clear documentation, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with Technology and Data Analytics teammates, offering SQL/application expertise, mentorship, and support
What you bring:
- Database and application programming background (data modeling, implementation, performance tuning, maintenance plans, reporting)
- DevOps and/or automation experience; strong analytical problem-solving
- SQL and data modeling skills (MS SQL Server T-SQL; SSRS/SSIS a plus)
- Object-oriented programming and scripting (PowerShell, bash, etc.)
- Excellent organization, interpersonal communication, and solid writing skills
If you’re ready to help shape how the organization uses data, apply today.
You’ll start by checking database health and overnight alerts, then prioritize work with teammates across Technology and Data Analytics. Mid-morning might be spent refining a new schema or adjusting a query after reviewing feedback from stakeholders. After lunch, you could be iterating on a small web interface, then shifting to automation—tightening a script so routine tasks run consistently. Throughout the day, you’ll document changes as you go, keep an eye on performance trends, and jump into focused troubleshooting when something doesn’t look right. You’ll wrap up by sharing updates, aligning on next steps, and leaving systems in a stable, well-understood state.
