Seeking a Maintenance Reliability Engineer to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a foundry manufacturing environment. This is a direct hire opportunity for an engineering professional who thrives on solving complex equipment challenges, optimizing maintenance programs, and partnering with operations teams to improve overall plant performance.
What You'll Do as a Maintenance Reliability Engineer:
As a Maintenance Reliability Engineer, you'll play a critical role in maximizing equipment uptime, extending asset life, and improving maintenance effectiveness across foundry operations. This position will work closely with maintenance, engineering, operations, and leadership teams to implement reliability strategies and support safe, cost-effective production.
Maintenance Reliability Engineer Duties Include:
- Developing and executing reliability strategies for critical foundry equipment including furnaces, molding lines, core machines, conveyors, sand systems, and material handling equipment
- Leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations and implementing permanent corrective actions
- Monitoring and reporting key reliability metrics including MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability, and downtime trends
- Identifying chronic equipment failures and driving long-term reliability improvements
- Designing, optimizing, and maintaining Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs
- Supporting condition monitoring initiatives including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasound testing
- Improving maintenance job plans, task frequencies, and maintenance standards based on equipment performance data
- Partnering with maintenance planners and supervisors to improve schedule compliance and maintenance efficiency
- Supporting capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations with a focus on reliability and maintainability
- Conducting Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on existing and new equipment
- Standardizing maintenance procedures, spare parts, and tooling to reduce costs and improve efficiency
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining accurate asset records, BOMs, and maintenance documentation within the CMMS system
- Providing technical leadership, coaching, and training to maintenance personnel
- Supporting planned outages and major maintenance events as needed
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of maintenance, reliability engineering, or related experience within a foundry or heavy industrial manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial power systems
- Experience leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) initiatives and implementing corrective actions
- Hands-on experience with CMMS systems and maintenance data analysis
- Foundry experience involving iron, steel, aluminum, or other metal casting operations preferred
- Training or certification in Reliability Engineering, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), TPM, or Six Sigma preferred
- Experience supporting furnace systems, sand handling equipment, dust collection systems, and high-temperature manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and environmental compliance standards
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
